Major Water Project for Nicol of Skene in Perthshire

Nicol of Skene are this week (w/c 9th January 2017) staring works on a major Scottish Water project in the Perthshire villages of Meigle and Burrelton. Works are being carried out by the Nicol of Skene Utilities Division as part of our contract with Caledonia Water Alliance.

This £800,000 investment by Scottish Water will take up to 14 weeks to complete and will result in a more resilient supply to the villages.

Scottish water logoWork in Meigle will take place on a rolling programme from the A94 at Smithy Lane along the Dundee Road also including, Ardler Road, Glebeway and Glebe Drive. Road closures will be on a rolling programme aligned with the works, on Dundee Road, between Ardler Road and Strathmore Place and in Glebe Way and Glebe Drive. In Burrelton work will also begin the same day, affecting the A94 at South Lodge towards Burrelton and will include, Station Road, Scott Street, North Street, School Road and Whitelea Road as work progresses. There will be traffic management in place as the work goes on, including temporary traffic lights and localised road closures on both sets of works, but diversions will be in place.
